Shell Medall, M.S.
Shell is a cofounder of "The Earth and Material Sciences Group" and a Principal in all the Group's Firms. He began in the geotechnical Industry in 1962 after receiving his Bachelors Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and Masters from the University of Southern California. His experience in Engineering Geology encompasses a wide range of projects from geologic mapping of the campus at the University of California, Irvine Campus, to diverse administrative responsibilities related to the port facilities at Valdez, Alaska and the Alyeska pipeline. He has worked on scores of construction projects, including master planned communities, high-rise buildings, and a variety of dams, bridges and highways during his 42 years in the business. He is a registered geologist, engineering geologist, environmental assessor in California, and a registered geologist in Arizona.

  L. Fernando Aragón, R.C.E., G.E.
Fernando is a cofounder of "The Earth and Material Sciences Group" and a Principal in all the Group's Firms. He obtained his Civil Engineering degree from Loyola University of Los Angeles in 1974 and engaged in Geotechnical Studies and training at several institutions in the USA and South America. He is a Registered Civil Engineer and a Registered Geotechnical Engineer. His technical experience includes working in the construction of the Pan-American Highway in South America, major high-rise buildings with multi-story underground parking structures in Century City and Downtown Los Angeles, major commercial projects such as the Westminster Mall and the Brea Mall, large land development projects such as the Pepperdine University (Malibu Campus), governmental facilities which include the County of Riverside Health and Welfare Administration Center, housing projects for the City of Los Angeles Redevelopment Agency, and large mine reclamation projects in Riverside County. His administrative experience ranges from being project engineer in these and other projects to Corporate President.

  Edward C. (Ted) Riddell, RG, CEG
Mr. Riddell has over 17 years experience in all phases of geotechnical projects across Southern California. He has managed and worked on projects in the private and public sectors since receiving his Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His experience includes managing several large hillside grading projects for planned residential communities, slope stability analyses in landslide terrain, fault studies, dams, school construction, and commercial buildings and infrastructure. In California, he is a Registered Geologist and a Certified Engineering Geologist, and in Oregon he is registered as an Engineering Geologist.

  Mark G. Doerschlag, C.E.G.
Mark is a Principal of MAG. He earned his Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983, and thereafter has applied his broad-based experience in Engineering Geology to design, manage and perform technical investigations for residential, commercial, and industrial land development, schools, hospitals, mineral resource assessments, mine reclamation, and heavy construction projects throughout California and Nevada. He has been a key investigator for geo-engineering studies of two of the three dams enclosing Diamond Valley Reservoir (Riverside County), large-bore tunnels in hard and soft rock, shafts, and pipelines. His technical specialties include seismology and seismic hazards analysis, fault hazard investigations, geomorphology, applied geophysics, in situ test methods for subsurface characterization, rock mass classification for underground openings, and the evaluation of sites potentially impacted by the phenomenon of hydrocollapse. He is a Registered Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist in the State of California.

  Russ Penniman
Russ is the President of "The Earth and Material Sciences Group". Russ is a former Naval Officer and Aviator, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the United States Naval Academy, and has completed post graduate work in Marketing and Finance with Chapman University. Upon leaving active duty, Russ became President of Plus Products, Inc., a privately owned company, which developed and marketed payroll and accounting software solutions for small businesses, bookkeepers and accountants. Following the successful sale of Plus Products, Inc. Russ then established and became managing partner of Penniman & Associates, a California Limited Liability Corporation, which develops residential properties and invests in other real estate ventures, and provides management consulting services for other business entities. Russ' strong business and financial background rounds out the TEMSG management team.

  Yonathan Yoseph
(Registered Geologist, Certified Hydrogeologist)
Yonathan Yoseph received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla in 1985. Yonathan is currently completing his M.S. degree in Geology, with emphasis in hydrogeology, from the California State University at Long Beach. Mr. Yoseph is a State of California Registered Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist.

Yonathan, who heads Remediation Sciences, Inc., has more than 15 years experience in site investigations, site assessments and technical management of projects. He has extensive experience performing Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and remediation of sites impacted with organic chemicals, inorganic chemicals and metals. He has managed environmental projects for aerospace, metal finishing, automotive, agricultural, pharmaceutical and general manufacturing industries.

Mr. Yoseph also has geotechnical engineering experience performing subsurface investigations, pile and foundation inspections, compaction testing and laboratory testing. He supervised a geotechnical laboratory that tested soil for private, county, state and federal government projects for four years. His laboratory experience included daily supervision, testing and data reduction.

  Farhat H. Siddiqi, Ph.D., P.E.
Farhat H. Siddiqi, Principal Engineer of Geo-Environmental, Inc. has over 35 years of experience with emphasis on foundation design, soil liquefaction studies, earthquake engineering, and design and construction of earth and rock-fill dams. Dr. Siddiqi holds bachelors degrees in Physics and Mathematics, and in Civil Engineering, a Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering.

Dr. Siddiqi's expertise includes static and seismic stability analyses as well as geotechnical and seismic instrumentation of earthen dams. He has extensive experience in soil liquefaction evaluation for school, hospital, residential, and commercial sites, as well as power plants. He has worked on many projects involving soft ground improvement.

He is adjunct Professor at the University of California, Irvine, and is a member of the University's Civil Engineering Affiliates. Dr. Siddiqi has also taught at the University of California, Davis and California State University at Sacramento. He has received research grants from various organizations including the National Science Foundation. He is a registered professional engineer in California and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
